01 — What We Remodel

Full-scale renovation. Nothing less.

The projects that need a real general contractor: multiple trades, structural work, permits, and a schedule measured in months.

01

Whole-Home Renovations

Every room, every system, one plan. Dated house in a great location becomes the house you would have built there — without the moving trucks.

02

Gut Remodels

Down to the studs and back. New electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, and finishes — plus the framing corrections and structural surprises older homes hide in the walls.

03

Structural Reconfiguration

Walls moved, floor plans opened, steel set. Load-bearing changes done with engineering and permits — not optimism.

04

Kitchens & Baths, In Scope

The kitchens and bathrooms inside your larger renovation — designed and built as part of the whole, not as standalone showroom projects.

05

Basement Build-Outs

Finished basements as part of a full renovation: moisture handled first, ceilings and egress done to code, real living space below grade.

06

Interior Demo, In-House

Gut jobs start with demolition, and ours is done by PRC Demolition — our own Class B licensed division. No waiting on a third party to swing the first hammer.

02 — Why PRC for Your Renovation

Renovations don’t fail on skill. They fail on management.

A gut remodel is a dozen trades in a tight sequence inside a building full of surprises. That’s a management problem — and management is what you’re hiring.

One Contract, Every Trade

Demo, framing, mechanicals, finishes — sequenced and supervised by one contractor. No gaps between subs, because there are no sub chains.

Older Homes, No Panic

Knob-and-tube, undersized headers, mystery framing — Southern Connecticut housing stock is full of it. We find it, price the fix honestly, and keep the job moving.

Permitted & Inspected

A gut remodel without permits is a problem you sell to the next owner. Every PRC renovation is permitted, inspected, and closed out properly under HIC.0661478.

A Budget That Holds

Line-item scopes, allowances defined up front, and change orders in writing before the work happens. You approve the number — then we build.

03 — Inside and Out

The only renovation contractor that also owns your exterior.

Most remodelers stop at the drywall. PRC installs roofing, siding, and gutters with our own crews — so a whole-home renovation can mean the whole home, envelope included, under one contract. And if the scope grows into an addition, we do those too.

Remodeling Questions, Answered

Do you do small remodeling jobs?

No — and we say so up front to save everyone time. If you need one vanity swapped or a room painted, we are not your guy. If you are taking the house down to the studs, reworking the floor plan, or renovating the whole property, that is exactly what PRC Builders is built for.

Will you remodel just my kitchen or bathroom?

We build kitchens and baths constantly — as part of larger renovations. A standalone cabinet-swap kitchen is better served by a kitchen shop. When the kitchen remodel involves moving walls, relocating plumbing, or is one piece of a whole-home project, that is our lane.

Can we live in the house during a full renovation?

For a true gut remodel, usually not — and we will tell you that honestly rather than promise a livable job site. For phased whole-home renovations we can often keep part of the house functional. Either way, you get a realistic schedule before demo day, not after.

What happens when you open the walls and find problems?

In a house with some age on it, we will find something — that is a promise, not a risk. The difference is how it is handled: we document what we find, price the fix as a written change order, and get your sign-off before proceeding. No mid-project hostage negotiations.

Are you licensed and insured for this scale of work?

Yes. PRC Builders holds CT Home Improvement license HIC.0661478 and New Home Construction license NHC.0016349, carries $2M in liability coverage, and runs W-2 crews. Interior demolition is handled by our Class B licensed division, PRC Demolition (DMCR.003450). Verify all three at elicense.ct.gov.
